This is actually the second Crock Pot meal I have made this week. Where is the other one, you ask? Well, I had pictures and a witty review all ready to go. Then Farm Guy tried it and all but threw up. I thought it was perfectly fine, but I don't feel right posting a vomit-inducing recipe. So, if you DON'T like to vomit...today's recipe is for you. It is Farm Guy tested and approved.
You need: 1 jar pizza sauce, 1 cup Italian bread crumbs, 1 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. pepper, 6 slices mozzarella cheese, 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, 4-6 chicken breasts (I used breast tenderloins because that's all we had an it worked fine) 2 eggs, 4 Tbs. butter, a dash of Italian seasoning (not pictured) and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese to serve.
Beat 2 eggs, salt, and pepper together. Dip chicken into egg mixture.

Then dip chicken into the bread crumbs.

Make sure your butter has melted in a medium skillet.
Lightly saute chicken in butter on both sides.
Arrange chicken in Crock Pot. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
Pour jar of pizza sauce on chicken. Cover and cook on low 6-8 hours.
After 6-8 hours, layer mozzarella cheese over top of the chicken and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Cook an additional 15 minutes.

15 minutes later you have a delicious, cheesy, husband approved meal. (Doesn't that bottom piece of chicken with the cheese bubble look like a fish?!) Creepy. Maybe I could sell it on ebay like those grilled cheese Virgin Mary sandwiches.
It goes great with this...
and this.

Hmmm. Interesting. Was the chicken soggy? Cuz I think it'd lose the crunch after 6 hours. Man, I so did not realize I had such texture issues until you started posting all these recipes!
You are goofy with your textures. But, it never was crunchy. The sauteing just kind of made the seasoning "stick" to the chicken. It was very saucy, but not soggy. Just like chicken you would cook in any kind of sauce or gravy.
That is really cool, I love easy and crock pot things. Don't like my chicken looking like a fish though!! lol
Now you got a nice and easy Lobster bisque crock pot recipe? (hint hint)
I swear I saw the Virgin Mary in that cheese bubble. You could make a fortune charging visits to the holy people...
Ok, ummm, well, this looks like a yummy dish. I may have to try it. I love using my crock pot.
I'm totally intrigued by the vomiting crock pot recipe though, what was it?!! I gotta know, dying of curiousity...
I LOVE your recipes thank you so much for sharing I need all the help I can get.
I'm more the baker than the cook.
I also love your finds at target they're so cute & the colors are great!!!
By the way thanks UBER is now a word in my vocabulary!!!
Wheresmyangels-No seafood in this blog. Sorry, dear. Never gonna happen.
Rhea-This dish was very easy and yummy. The vomit inducing dish had chicken, ham, and swiss cheese among other ingredients. Sounds harmless, right?
Tinabean-Thanks! I like cooking more than baking so maybe we should pair up?! It would be UBER delicious!
Wow. This looks good! (I hope Hubby's making supper soon; I'm hungry!)
