Ask and you shall receive

Many of you took the time to vote in my little poll thingie over there about what to do with my background. At first I freaked when the majority of you chose to change my background as I change my header because I am not HTML literate and in the past, each time I changed my background using Pyzam, I lost everything. However, I played around with it and learned how to copy and paste all my widgets back in! Woo hoo!

So here is my matching background for my current "wheat harvesting time" header. Whatcha think? Cute, right?

So now that I know what I am doing, I can get all matchy matchy with my backgrounds and headers. I can feel you are underwhelmed with this information, but I am very excited! Please humor me. Thank you.

Edited to add: Look at me go! Now I have learned how to change the width of my columns and header. Yay for me!

The wheat background is awesome! You make me miss home! And yeah, totally digging the John Deere stuff. I used to have a J.D. tractor key chain that I used until the wheels fell off.

Oh, I really like it! Everything looks so neat and organized, and the wheat looks great! I need to learn how to adjust the columns, too.

I love it! I love that your main section and sidebar is opaque and you can see the wheat behind it. So very pretty. I love all the brown. And you can change the width of your columns? I don't know how you did all this...but it's just lovely!

I am so impressed, I cannot speak. I need a tutorial and I need it now. How to do all these fancy, impressive things? Now, sweet, busy woman!!! I may be able to charm a Staples salesman, but I am unable to charm my computer. Speak, Angie, of your abilities. I am all ears.

Are you kidding me? It's adorable! You did good! I still don't know how to do all that, but how cool is it that you do? If I did, I'd be changing stuff up all the time. It's kind of like changing your furniture around in your house or something.

Totally fun.

WhooHoo!! You go girl!!! Awesome!!!

Okay, I did find out how to save my widgets, so I'm good on that.

However, might I suggest you do a tutorial on the rest?

Pretty, pretty please, with chocolate covered cherries on top...

Deanna-I swear we had the same keychain and our wheels fell off too!

Mama Dawg and Za's mom-Thanks! I love it too! Can't wait to play more!

Kat-Thanks! I was so happy to figure out how to change the width. I always thought it was kinda silly to be so small.

Teach and Deb-I promise a tutorial later tonight.

Ali and Christine-Thank you! I am so happy to figure out how to change without losing all of my stuff!

Sunshine-I know! I have a feeling ya'll will be sick of me changing stuff around...but I can't help myself!

Karen-Thank you! And I promise a tutorial soon!

Love the new look - the pic of your babies is too precious for words, really!! Is this going to be like the matchy matchy wallet obsession is it? :)

John Deere Mom said...

Kimmyj-I'm afraid it is! :) I am lovin' messing around with the colors and pictures...it's addictive. I don't know what I'm going to do when I am back to school with NO TIME!

Please, please, PLEASE. Tell me how you save your widgets! I'm dying to change my background, but can't bear the thought of having to re do all my widgets!!!

Sheri-I will...I promise! I am working on a post now and hope to get it done when the kids get to bed.

I was just thinking the same thing about being back to work. I was just informed that Shawn'll be gone the 2 weeks after vacation. Which includes the day I'm to go to my gyn for some test since I had 2 abnormal paps in a row and I have such strange luck with the chromosomes. I may be begging you for babysitting (the 25th) if he ends up gone that day. Can you tell I'm already worrying about it? And how am I going to get stuff ready for school if he's not even here? Damn, I dumped the sitter!
Now go write that tutorial so I can make mine even cuter!

John Deere Mom said...

Deb-I would be glad to babysit. But, the 25th is the last day of my class that I am taking to renew my license. (The class is the 21st-25th.) Any other day (like if you could get your appt. rescheduled for the following week) the kids and I could come play at your house while you go to the appt.
And getting ready for school? First of all..yuck! But, that would be a perfect time to try out the new sitter, if you can drop the kids off for an hour or two at a time those first few days in August. You would be right there and Noah could get used to it.
I am working on the tutorial now!

I really, really love the new look! It's awesome! Such a pretty brown, the wheat is fabulous and it just all meshes together really well. Wonderful!

It's absolutely perfect! And I love the shades of color -- very classy. :)

I was one of the ones who voted for the classic JD green background you had but I have to admit that this new one is very cool and I like it even more. I'm totally impressed and a little bit intimidated by your html prowess! ;-)

Love the new look! Is this what you did with Scrapblog? I still haven't figured out how to do my photos...not that I'm stupid or anything (duh....well, maybe), but I really haven't had time.

Oh, and I LOVE school supplies also...it really was fun buying for six!!

The changes are great!! The acreage next to ours was just harvested and I was so upset, I had a doctor appt and had to miss watching it. I've never seen wheat harvested before.

Aw man. Now I'll have to beg Paula/Amy again. Or maybe my respite nurse would do it. If he's even gone. I don't think it's official yet.
Have fun with that class. Mine was really good last summer, but I didn't end up using much of it. Too much time spent on actual instruction for all that fun stuff!
Yeah, I've been thinking about trying out the new sitter for a bit. I'm calling her when we get back from vacation to arrange a meeting.
Saw the old one at the fair. How uncomfortable was that! She was nice and talked to the kids, but the discomfort was also there, just awkward.
