I am not one to post videos of my kids...like ever. But, oh my. I had to. Over the weekend, the kids were listening to their iPods on the way to grandma and grandpa's house. Cole has his own which literally has 9 songs (per his request.)
Little Miss doesn't actually have her own, but she uses mine. I have quite a wide array of music on mine. And I will admit, a few of the songs aren't appropriate for a 4 year old. But I figured, with 200 songs (plus a bunch of kids songs I put on it) surely she will find appropriate songs.
Wrong.
The songs she listened to the entire way to Grandma's? Hollaback Girl, She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy, and Bitch.
Mother of the Year.
But I swear if these aren't the cutest videos ever, I don't know what is. So please, humor me.
Oh, and yes that is me driving while precariously holding the camera backwards on my shoulder. And yes, I do have the safe driver discount.
This one is Cole belting out his new favorite tune...and showing off ADD at its best.
Here is the Little Miss singing one of Cole's favorite songs.
And yes...Little Miss performing Meredith Brooks.

Not Really Wordless Wednesday, Tuesday Evening Edition
How's that for a title? I promised a more cohesive post with pictures....let's see if I can deliver.
Little Miss turned 4 last week. I would be remiss if I didn't share a few moments from her birthday weekend.
One of her favorite gifts turned out to be this leotard and ballet slippers. And if you remember her old ballet outfit...you will know it was desperately needed.
Did you notice her outfit? The yellow shirt and Halloween skirt?
Grandma's dog Sally has a matching outfit!
That's right! Grandma (who may or may not have too much time on her hands) whipped out matching outfits for Claire and Sally one afternoon. The girls could not look cuter in their Halloween dresses with matching hair bows.
But the most exciting moment? Discovering that the present Grandma and Grandpa "forgot" at their house turned out to be a Barbie Jeep!
Despite the rain, it was a wonderful day. And after a delicious birthday breakfast, Grandpa and the kids settled in for a story. And I snapped my new favorite picture.

Things on My Mind
House, Colts Monday Night Football, and Dancing with the Stars on all on the same night? WTH? I go 3 months with nothing to watch and now this? My poor remote control is nearly worn out from all the flashbacking.
My school laptop died today...the one connected to my SMART board...which is the only way I know how to teach anymore. If it can't be fixed soon...I am switching rooms with the teacher across the hall.
My 5th grade girls from last year that are now 6th grade girls? I would like to exchange them for something with a bit less attitude. And perhaps a bit more concern for their grades and a little less concern for the boys they have suddenly decided are notsomuch gross as totally cute. Thank you.
I need to change my "About Me" section. I am no longer the mom of a 3 year old girl. I am now the mom to a 4 year old and a nearly 6 year old. The birthday party went well...lots of squealing for three little girls. And of course, Cole. In the middle of the party, while the girls were all eating cake and ice cream, he comes out in his WINTER overalls, telling the girls how he wears them when he works on his cattle. The girls? Could not care less. Did that stop him? Um, no. He then brought out 2 pairs of his work boots to show them. *sigh*
One of these days I will have an actual post with completely related thoughts. And maybe a picture or two. If I ever have time to import them from my camera.
When is fall break again?

Random It Is
I have so many thoughts going through my head but individually...they don't really make a blog post. Collectively? A big mess of random.
Like the fact that this guy is a major douchebag.
And this? Makes me very sad. Dirty Dancing, Ghost, Point Break...some of my favorite movies. And is there a 30 something woman alive that doesn't get that special tingle when Johnny throws Baby's arm up over his shoulder, caressing her all the way down...
*sigh*
And then there's school. Today my 5th/6th graders met their K buddies. Melted my heart is what it did. To see my big, tough 6th graders walking hand-in-hand with 5 year olds? So awesome. And to hear the K kids? It's so different for me now that Cole is in K. I can relate...I have a reference point. One of the K girls told her 5th grade buddy that she could count to 32 with her eyes closed! How freaking cute is that?!
2 days of "human growth" down...1 to go. Monday's session went much better. The kids got over the initial shock of the genitalia being flashed upon the big screen and were able to handle the second video with much less giggling. Most of the questions I got were appropriate...except when one boy asked if it was illegal to um, "have relations" with an animal.
Moving on.
The Little Miss turns 4 on Saturday. 4 years old. On one hand, I'm like, "Seriously? She's only 4? I could have sworn she was about 13 what with the attitude and strong opinions about pretty much everything." But on the other hand I'm all, "4? 4 years old? I could have sworn I gave birth to her last week."
That's pretty much what's up with me. Actually, I have several more random thoughts to share. But guess what? It's 9:37 p.m. And getting up at 5:00 a.m., teaching all day, being a mom, cooking supper, and getting the kids to bed is wearing.my.ass.out.

My Day
If you need me, I will be teaching approximately 45 fifth and sixth grade boys "human growth and development."
And after school?
I'll be the one on the couch drinking large quantities of wine to try and forget the questions I had to answer today.
Hold me.
