I'm done!
Among the gift cards and school supplies I received as gifts today, there was a note that said this:
"Since meeting you a year ago, the way I feel about school has changed. I don't wake up in the mornings and say, 'Do I have to get up and go to school?'
Now I say, 'I am dressed and ready for school!'"
And that?
Is the best gift a teacher can receive.

I love my boys' teachers. I knit scarves for the little guys teachers at Christmas to wear on the playground. When they have more than one teacher, I make my grandmother's coffee cake. I ♥ teachers who ♥ my boys! - great visuals on your blog!
ReplyDeleteI am done too. I got a sweet card from a girl in a class that always misbehaved. She thanked me for not giving up on them. It was so sweet. Also, got some hugs--this means a lot from high school kiddos. We have graduation tomorrow and I can honestly say that there are a few that I will definitely miss!!

ReplyDeleteThat is indeed!!!! We ended the school year this week as well. It was sad for me to see the 8th graders leave and move up to high school. (I work with children with Aspergers)

I'm sitting here feeling like I must be PMSing because I teared up at that and then I realized that others said that same thing. That really IS a great teacher who can make a child feel that way!
ReplyDeleteWe've had two really great teachers this year and luckily my K-er is in a K-1 class and will have the same one next year. I was worried because that could have gone either way.
My 3rd-grader has a wonderful lady who is retiring. He is also having the best year ever!
