Stick a Fork in Me

I'm done!

Among the gift cards and school supplies I received as gifts today, there was a note that said this:

"Since meeting you a year ago, the way I feel about school has changed. I don't wake up in the mornings and say, 'Do I have to get up and go to school?'
Now I say, 'I am dressed and ready for school!'"

And that?

Is the best gift a teacher can receive.

  3. I got teary!!! What a priceless gift. Parents recognize great teachers quite often, but how awesome that a student did too, and wasn't afraid to express it!

  12. But ... wait.

You missed, like, a MONTH of school because of snow. And you're finished before I am? I have another SIX DAMN SCHOOL DAYS, sister, PLUS graduation next Saturday.

I work in the wrong state. Clearly.

    But enough about me.

Congratulations on reaching the end of this year's line. Enjoy your summer!

  16. That is a great card for a teacher to get! I didn't sign up for your giveaway--we already have WAY TOO MANY JD toys--so I thought I would give others the opportunity to win! Hope you can stop by my farm for a visit--and leave me a comment too! :)

  31. I love my boys' teachers. I knit scarves for the little guys teachers at Christmas to wear on the playground. When they have more than one teacher, I make my grandmother's coffee cake. I ♥ teachers who ♥ my boys! - great visuals on your blog!

  32. I am done too. I got a sweet card from a girl in a class that always misbehaved. She thanked me for not giving up on them. It was so sweet. Also, got some hugs--this means a lot from high school kiddos. We have graduation tomorrow and I can honestly say that there are a few that I will definitely miss!!

  38. I'm sitting here feeling like I must be PMSing because I teared up at that and then I realized that others said that same thing. That really IS a great teacher who can make a child feel that way!

We've had two really great teachers this year and luckily my K-er is in a K-1 class and will have the same one next year. I was worried because that could have gone either way.

My 3rd-grader has a wonderful lady who is retiring. He is also having the best year ever!

I didn't want to sign up for the JD giveaway, but I did have to tell you... your bio sounds so much like me!!! I LOVE office supplies AND organzing them (and everything) LOL! It is nice to meet you!
