Half Past Jimmy Neutron

It's become apparent that we no longer have the need for clocks in our house. We now tell time based on what is on TV. Do you know what I'm talking about?

Wubbzy's on! Time to get the kids up!

Magic School Bus is over? Time to head to daycare!

Maggie and the Ferocious Beast? Weekend! Lunchtime!

Blue's Clues is already on?! Crap! Supper's late!

Max and Ruby? Bathtime!

Max and Ruby's over?! Quick! Change the channel before Dora comes on...it's Claire's bedtime!

First commercial during Spongebob? Goodnight, Cole!

Am I the only one who does this?!

  1. My house is the same way...that is so funny. I do think my boys would go into withdrawl without all their cartoons. Isnt that sad?

  2. I hear you. When Wee One gets up before The Wiggles, it makes me sad. If he gets up during Jojo, it makes me very, very sad.

    LOVE your new design.

  3. LOL I have a tv on all the time, sometimes 3 at a time so I don't miss anything as I go from room to room. The dog knows when Oprah is almost over he gets to eat and starts barking. He is so smart, for a chihuahua.

  4. No, you are not the only one!! I spend my days with cartoons on and Lillian barely watches them. (but I'll think...well, she might) What is really bad is when you find yourself singing the songs when you are alone AND not just singing, but harmonizing....

  5. Obviously you're not the only one.

I like Blue's Clues because it means that when it's over, bedtime is only one hour away!

  6. Definitely not! Ours tends to run around the Food Network, as my daughter is a budding foodie!

I LOVE your new blog header!

  10. I so understand. We have to tape Magic School Bus if we're not home and if we're home my youngest insists we record it for my oldest to watch when she gets home from school. Daddy gets home during Max & Ruby.

  11. I used to do it that way....but Zander will only watch Lazytown, Oswald and Blues Clues now.....so I have a bunch of them tivo'd...so I can't tell time by what is on anymore......it throws my whole night off...

  12. Of course, but now, it's more like Gossip Girl is on, now it's time for Mom to get ready for bed!

  13. Love the prety new page!
"We" (me excluded) live by the NASCAR on TV clock. Mr. Sweetie is lost now that the season's over. I can't buh-leeve HOW MANY SHOWS are devoted to cars going around a track. Mind-boggling.

  16. Gert doesn't really understand the concept of time - when I tell her something is 3 hours from now... she just looks at me blankly. When I tell her "6 Dora's"... suddenly it makes more sense.

  17. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving as well....I love your new background, can't remember if I've already said that.

Just call me the fudge fairy...never know what may turn up next!!!

  18. We do it here too - in fact Diego just went off so it's bedtime like RIGHT NOW! lol We do however sometimes get ptu off because Zilla enjoys watching Thomas on DVD over and over and over and over again. Noggin messes us up big time when they change the line up monthly! Glad we aren't the only ones! HAHA

  19. Oh can I relate and yes, we do bath time during Dora so I don't have to watch anymore of it! Argh! Only in this house we are usually up until at least Wonder Pets because I get home so late and otherwise Jonathan would never see me.
