Catching Up

Don't you love getting awards? It's such a nice little treat to perk up your day. I was kindly given this award...that while super cute...is in Spanish. I assume it means something kind and wonderful. Although since I can't remember who gave it to me...it might say something mean and nasty. ;) I am passing this award on to Blarney.

I also got this little beauty from Becky at Elephant Juice. If you haven't been to her blog, you should check it out. She has weekly Friend's trivia questions that are super tough! Go play. I am passing this award on to Rhea at Texas Word Tangle!

This little cutie came from Mamarazzi. She has the cutest blog...I just love the dandelions. And she tells great stories with her pictures. I shall pass this one on to June at Bye, Bye, Pie..although she will probably never find out because I am a major stalker. But seriously...she is so freaking funny. Love her...even though I can't actually bring myself to say puffy heart love. That makes me throw up a little.

I got this cute little award from Blarney. She needed help with her son's school project so I helped her out a bit. She is supermom and took her son to a museum just to see examples of the project he was to make. How awesome is that?! If you want to see the project, click here. Could we pause for a moment and discuss these awards? I mean...who comes up with them? Who makes them? Not that I don't appreciate them...I do. I totally do. But I have seen few awards that are mistake free. Okay, the Spanish one might be okay. My Spanish is a little rusty...too rusty to remember how to conjugate verbs. But "For the coolest blog I ever know." What IS that?! And I despise words spelled incorrectly on purpose. Kreativ blogger? What's wrong with Creative? It wasn't even spelled incorretly to "match" another word like Krispy Kreme. Don't even get me STARTED on Krispy Kreme. But I disgress...

I was also tagged by Dysfunctional Mom and Shelley to share 7 random things about myself. Let's see if there's anything random left to share.

1. I have a walk-in closet that's too messy to walk in.

2. I now have a garage door with an opener for the first time in my life. And I LOVE it.

3. I have no idea what I have bought everyone for Christmas or what I still need to buy. See number 1.

4. I have never, ever watched any of the traditional Christmas movies, like It's a Wonderful Life or Miracle on 34th St. I don't have anything against them, I just have never taken the time to watch.

5. If I finish a book and don't have anything new to read, I will re-read books over and over. My favorite books to re-read? All things Harry Potter and anything by Carl Hiaasen.

6. I broke the heel off one of my new pairs of shoes after wearing them 3 times. Hmpf.

7. I am addicted to buying new pens, notebooks, planners, address books...and most recently? To-go coffee cups. I just can't help myself. When the kids were little? I was addicted to buying different kinds of sippie cups. I swear we owned every kind available.

Did you know?

Scargosun and Lindsay both tagged me to share a few (7 and 6 respectively) random things about myself. They had rules and regulations I was to abide by, but it's already late, so I am flying by the seat of my pants here. I know. I am such a bad a$$ rule breaker.

1. I was a vegetarian for 7 years.

2. Chewing gum gives me a headache.

3. I took Spanish for 2 years in middle school, 4 years in high school, and 3 years in college. Hola. My llamo Angela. Although in middle school they let you choose any "Spanish" name to use for class. So I was known as Mercedes for two years. That's about all I remember.

4. I love all vegetables except for beets, turnips, and radishes.

5. One of my favorite comfort foods is white rice with a can of cream of mushroom soup. So good.
6. I have never stolen anything in my life, except for a wine glass at Olive Garden when I was in high school. My friends were urging me to put it in my purse and take it. I was so freaking nervous I thought I was going to pee my pants. Then just as I walked through the doors to leave, my friends made a siren sound like I had gotten busted. Absolutely terrified the holy he!! out of me.

7. I haven't yet left the kids alone overnight. Well, I guess I technically left Cole overnight with Grandma while I was giving birth to Little Miss, but I really don't think it counts if you spend your one kid-free night squeezing another human being out of a very small orifice. If we ever do leave the kids alone for a night, I hope to have dinner and a movie and NOT push out another kid.

Say what?! and a tag

I have some random funny things clogging up my brain that I must get out. Things I have heard or seen in the past week. Here they are for your reading pleasure.

*While taking my contact case out of the cabinet, Little Miss says, "Momma, are you taking out your Tic Tacs?"

*Little Miss exclaims, "Momma, I am drying my hair with the microwave," as she stands in front of the air conditioner.

*I go to pass a white company car on the interstate yesterday. The logo on the side of the car read, "Optometry Specialists." The driver? An 80+ year old man wearing the I just had cataract surgery glasses. WTH?!

*I overhear Tractor Boy yell to Little Miss, "I am going to kill you if you do that again!" I WHIP around to talk to him about how that isn't appropriate. Before I even get a word out, he leans down, grins, and whispers in my ear, "Don't worry, Momma. I not gonna kill her for reals."

*While talking about the fair, Little Miss exclaims, "I want to ride the steering wheel!"

*When dropping the kids off at the gym childcare center, Little Miss informs me, "Momma, I will be a good girl for the last time today."

AND, since I know you are dying for MORE about me...Tina tagged me for 6 random things. Here is the first set of random things I did...now let's see if I can come up with some more.

*When I was pregnant with the Boy, I developed carpal tunnel which is a really weird side effect of pregnancy. It never went away so as I type this, my thumbs are tingling and nearly dead. See the hardships I endure to write these posts?

*I recently discovered Edamame and wonder where it's been my whole life. I love it and now eat it all the time. Just plain with a bunch of salt. Mmmm, mmmmm.

*I have driven 6 cars since turning 16. 1/2 of them have been Honda Accords. Here they are (none of these are the actual car..just pics I borrowed from the Internet so the colors aren't necessarily accurate,but you get the idea.)

*I have never made a pie crust from scratch.

*My toenails are ALWAYS painted. Always. The only time they are bare are for a few seconds in between removing nail polish and reapplying polish.

*I secretly think I am going to win every contest Pioneer Woman has.
