Is that a corncob in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

It's no secret that I do a lot of laundry around here. And in that time, I have washed and/or dried some unusual items, including:

*corn
*soybeans
*buckeyes
*rocks
*pocket knife
*business card holder
*wallet
*chapstick
*crayons
*iPod
*cat
*mulch
*coins

Okay, I should explain the cat. Once, several years ago, I was moving clothes from the washer to the dryer. Apparently, Tiger (a very curious kitty-cat) hopped into the dryer when I wasn't looking. I turned on the dryer and started to walk away. I immediately heard, "Thump-thud. Thump-thud."

I knew that couldn't be good. But when I opened the dryer, I certainly didn't expect to see a cat hop out. But besides being a bit dizzy and disoriented, he was fine.

Well, he only has 3 legs. But I swear I had nothing to do with that!

Anyway...

The latest item to show up in my laundry?

A corn cob.

Somehow the Boy managed to leave a corn cob in his pocket all day long. It went through the washer, but when I was putting the clothes into the dryer, I noticed something sticking out of the pocket.

Luckily he had already taken most of the corn off of it...so the damage was minimal. But still. A corn cob? In the laundry? Who does that?

Little boys, that's who.

The cat scenario I can understand - the corn cob? Now THAT is a bit unusual!

Having two boys myself, I am always on edge when doing their laundry, cause I never know what I'm going to find.

With boys you never know what is going to be in thier pockets! The best one yet for me was a chocolate candy bar. Went through washer AND dryer. The dryer (and our clothes) smelt like chocolate for a few loads!!

What a shock it would have been to open the dryer and have a load of popcorn fall out. :) That's too funny. I'm always worried about our kitties so I do a head count after I start a load of laundry. They are always curious, and you know what they say!

I am always scared that I am going to dry my cat. He's always in there snooping. Luckily I've never dried him but he has fallen into the washer before.

My hubby once left a shotgun shell in his pocket. It made it to the dryer and I was freaked out of my mind when I found it!
