Airing My Dirty Laundry

Kelly Ripa, are you listening?

I see you flitting around in the Electrolux commerical doing your "dirty" laundry in 36 minutes, all the while being "even more amazing."

I would like to do my laundry in 36 minutes. I would like to be even more amazing.

But have you seen my laundry? Please refer to Figure A.

Figure A: The dirt-covered jeans worn by the little man last weekend.

The caked-on dirt covered the entire surface of the jeans. They could practically stand up on their own. Let's just say it took longer than 36 minutes, thankyouverymuch. In the time it took to pre-treat, scrub, wash, rewash, and dry, the little man had time to dirty yet another pair of jeans. See figure B.

Figure B: Yet another pair of filthy jeans worn by the little man last weekend.

Upon first glance, this pair of jeans doesn't look quite as bad as the first pair. But that isn't dirt, my friends. That is honest to goodness cow manure.

In my washing machine.

*sigh*

Electrolux, have your people call my people. Momma needs a second washing machine.

My six-year-old son has a pair of pants and a pair of rubber rain boots that he has to wear every time he "builds" in the back yard. And by "builds", he means digging in the mud. :D (now that I've seen your manure pants, he can go to town in any pants he wants-LOL)

yep. I am afraid that my mama had a few pairs of those jeans back when I was a kid.I loved the dirt and now I can't stand it! My mom would take the hose to us then make us strip.

Ok, so I have 3 year old and 15 month old boys. I already can't keep them clean for more than, ummm a minute? We live on a farm too and man I have had some of this to deal with already...maybe like photo 3...but, man I am not looking forward to this on a daily basis, but I know its coming. Oxyclean is my friend...in the spray liquid and dry powder, they both are added to almost every load in my house!

I bet the smile on his face is worth all the mess. But, if your washer breaks, don't bring those pants here to wash!

Ew. That makes me secretly (or not so secretly) glad that my boy is slightly anal with getting dirty. Bordering on prissy. The grass stains are already my nemesis.

I hate that commercial! I want to run over there and mess up her hair!

And I doubt Electrolux put any manure through their machines...you could volunteer your dirty laundry for them to experiment with as long as they give you a free washer in return!

Right there with you sister! Washing machine companies should let me and you do a review for them as FARMER'S WIVES! Geesh!!!

Ughhh... I SO know just what you're talking about :( And, MY washing machine takes 1:46 to run. I'm not kidding. My dryer on the other hand takes just over 30 minutes so heres what happens... I put the wet load in the dryer, the dryer dings, I get the clothes out, fold them and go eat ice cream and forget about the clothes in the washer thus having to rerinse because they have sat to long and aquire the infamous front loader funk. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Yikes! I'm pretty sure if you send emails to Regis & Kelly they will get her attention or at least the producers. I dare you ~ no I double dare you!

Haha! Found your blog through someone else (shamelessly blog stalking) and had a good laugh. Good luck with the poopy jeans. :/

Blog stalking for me too... :) Love the pants. I just got through washing and wiping my dryer down from having a pen explode in one of my boys' jeans. Such a delight to raise boys, eh?!

I think Kelly Ripa has a lot of help to be that "amazing". Are we believing she's ever laundered even a sock? Not really, no.

Oh, so funny! That ad always makes me laugh, since I'm sure she doesn't even know where the washing machines are in her houses/apartments. Thanks for the morning chuckle.
