I came. I saw. I met Pioneer Woman!

Oh yes, I did!

SQUEEE!

The Little Miss and I met Ree, The Pioneer Woman, at her book signing in Cincinnati last night.

We had gone to the bookstore last weekend to get our line letter, I. They were going to start calling letter A at 6:00 p.m. We left home at about 6:30, hoping it was going to take as long to get through those letters as I expected.

We arrived at the bookstore at about 7:30, just as they were calling letter G! Sweet! We went to the bathroom, browsed through the kid section, and soon enough, they called our letter I. We then got in line, where we waited. For a long time. But the line was full of nice, fun women, all excited to meet Ree. We chatted and laughed, and talked to John, the cute little baby boy in front of us in line who was rather smitten with a certain sparkly-shoe wearing girl.

Eventually, we made our way up the steps to the desk where Ree was sitting, signing books. It was all very surreal to see and meet her in real life. And after waiting for a couple hours, once we finally met her, it was all over in about 20 seconds. I don't even remember what I said. I am sure it was something clever like:

I really like you.

Heh.

She was sweet and gracious, just as you would expect. Her hair is beautiful. She had great eye make-up, and wore lots of jewelry. Her shellac nailpolish was holding up beautifully.

She signed my cookbook, which I got for Christmas last year. I read Black Heels, but it was on my Kindle, and I didn't think I wanted her to sign my Kindle. The woman in front of me brought along an apron for her to sign and Ree said, "Sure, I'll sign anything."

Grr. Why didn't I think of that?!

We had a great night. It's so fun to be able to do these girly things with the Little Miss. She loves shopping and books as much as I do, so it made for a wonderful girls night out.

If PDub is coming to your neck of the woods, I suggest going to meet her! It's well worth the wait!

I am planning to. I just need to bribe someone into going with me. I guess I should call and see if we need a letter or something. You were stressing me out that you didn't leave until 6:30. GAH! ;)

I drove all the way to Phoenix last year to have her sign my cookbook. But as it was getting extremely late and I was so far back in line I gave up and went home and had my friend get it signed for me. Soooo I'm jealous! Looks like you had fun!

Yeah for you and Little Miss! and yes, having an apron signed would have been cool, but I wouldnt have thought of it either.

Oh how fun! I think it would be so much fun to meet her. She was in Denver a few weeks ago but I didn't want to drive 3 hours one way. Not with these gas prices.
