Thursday Thirteen-Country Life

Thirteen things I love about living in the country:

1. No neighbors.

2. Wide open space for playing and exploring.

3. No noise other than the occasional moo.

4. Cows. (Except for that certain smell right before the barn is cleaned out.)

5. Watching my guys work.

6. Watching crops grow.

7. The smells-fresh grass, rain, that sweet smell of corn pollinating, the musty barn smell.

8. Gator rides.
9. Being able to tell the kids to play outside without worry.

10. Never knowing what kind of critter you might run into.

11. Planting season.

12. Harvest season.

13. The big, blue sky.

Beautiful! While we don't farm we have plans hopefully to someday move out further into the country. All that and you still have a Starbucks! Yeah!

Yes. I agree with every one of them. Whenever I get an itch for having Target closer than 45 minutes, or complain about having to drive 30+ miles to dine at a decent restaurant, I glance outside my door...at the mountains surrounding us...at our lack of neighbors...all all the wildlife...at my girls on the back of our 4-wheeler...and I remember.

Country living is where it's at. Amen!

Great pics, love Cole's booty shot and Miss Claire with the bubbles.
I am such a City gal but this makes me long for Green Acres. Thanks, JDM.

Noah just told me we're meeting you at Tractor Town to play today. HUH? Where does he come up with this stuff?
Great post. Beautiful pics. But you can keep the country. Too much for me to handle out there!

Amen sister. Love the country. Except for those days when it feels a little lonely. But love it most of the time.

Even though I am a city girl, I wish my neighbors didn't sit on top of me. Just love the picture of the sky! And I wish I could tell my child to go out there and have fun without worries.

Your pictures are just gorgeous!! I should do a post like this. About the cool things you get from living in the 'burbs. Like traffic. And 5 walmarts within 5 miles...

Great pictures! I like #1 :)

We live in Nebraska so I can relate. Not on a farm, but there is something serene about being able to find wide open spaces and just think and enjoy. I can't get down with the cows though - except maybe the baby ones at the fair :)

I live in the city now, but I do love going back home especially to my aunt and uncle's dairy farm, thanks for this post!

First let me say I love your blog. I have been sucked in and can't get out :)

Now, number 1 pic is the reason why we need to move to the country. I have a child who enjoys nothing more than to get naked for the neighbors. And I am sure they are tired of watching him pull his pants down to pee on the garden :)

I love John Deere Boy's Buffet pants!!

What a great list. We moved to the country when I was 11. Before that we lived in the Suburbs. So I have to say. I really love the Burbs better, but the country certainly does have great advantages.

I live in the Burbs now too, and we get some interesting wild life too. We had a wild baby bunny running around our living room a couple of weeks ago.

Have a great weekend.

Wow. You must really like the country. I prefer an urban setting myself but the big old sky is beautiful. Stopping by from SITS. My one year anniversary ends real soon so if you get a chance, stop by and grab an entry before it's over.

Seriously.......I wish I had country living! It looks like a great place to raise your family!

I live in the suburbs.....but I'd definitely chose the country over the city. You're very blessed! And I love cows....I don't know why....I just do!

Hi from SITS! I love this! I have always wanted to live on a farm and have lots of animals, especially cows (my favorite)! I strongly dislike my noisy neighbors over here, and wish I could move somewhere where my nearest neighbor is a mile away or more... Love the pictures! :)
