Snow Day #6

Holy l-o-n-g winter!

I blame myself.

A few weeks ago while looking outside at the mushy brown yard, gray skies, and muddy driveway, I sadly thought, "I guess this is it. Just 2 snow days in the first week of January. I guess we won't get more snow this winter."

Heh.

We are under yet another winter storm warning. Lots of new snow has fallen upon the old snow that never melted.

I need to make a list and get some things done around here today. I have been much too lazy on my previous 5 snow days.

It's time to get busy and make the most of this time off...

as soon as I finish another cup of coffee.

When they released us a WHOLE HOUR EARLY on Friday, I thought I heard the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. And now, here I sit, on freaking furlough, so the state can balance its budget on the backs of the state employees (read: teachers) and it is a lovely day. Getting ready to bake a cake. Just can't complain to my sister who lives outside of DC: they haven't been to school in two weeks and are going tomorrow (and the rest of the week) on two hour delays. They are looking for parents to come shovel the walks and driveways first thing tomorrow. (What? They didn't see that coming? Three to four feet of snow and here comes the busses??!!) Oh, yeah and there's another storm warning coming their way.

All nine of our dachshunds have a difficult time finding the right spot these days. Mike has scooped them out a place in the yard and then it snows again! ARG!!!! Then they poop on the patio and he has to scoop that off---but only after I b**** about it. And I hate to have to b**** but this snow is getting to me!!!!!!!!!
Love the funnies. Thanks for putting a smile on this face.

It's been 75 degrees and sunny so these snow pics are delightful to look at.
Best to the family, Miss Claire is getting so big in the giveaway picture.

This has been some winter, huh?

With all the holidays, half days and snow days we've had, my kids have not had a full week of school since they went back after Winter Break.

Let's see how next week goes...
