Did you know that dogs read blogs? And that I'm a poet and didn't know it?

So. Jose and Jackie. Apparently they caught wind of the whole spaying and neutering conversation. Last night all three dogs were sleeping soundly in the "puppy room" which is actually our mudroom. I let them out to potty this morning. The kids and I left. When Farm Guy went to get Jackie to take her to the vet, she and Ricardo were nowhere to be found. Had to cancel the appointment. Hmpf.

Got home after school and 2 blankity blank meetings to find Bear and Jackie only. I must admit I was a teensy bit sad that Paco wasn't here. BUT...just this minute...well, maybe 3 minutes ago...I looked out the window to see Bear, Jackie, and Juan running up the driveway! My little illegal immigrant is back! :)

Now Jackie is rescheduled for tomorrow morning and I will NOT be letting her out until it's time to go to the vet. And now I don't know what to do about Eduardo. He has definitely been a house dog. I don't want to steal him and neuter him and keep him as my own if he belongs to someone. It just doesn't seem right to take another girl's dog's balls, does it? What's a dog loving girl to do?

Preschool update! Cole LOVED it! It went great. I couldn't wait to pick him up to find out all about it. They sang songs, had story time, drew some pictures, practiced writing his name, had play time, drank chocolate milk, and went to the gym pretending to be a choo-choo train. All in all, it sounded like a great day. Little Miss didn't even notice he wasn't there. She was otherwise occupied in the backyard of daycare playing house.

Speaking of Little Miss...she was feeling a little better today. Still stuffy, snotty, and hoarse, but her little eyes didn't look quite so sick and she seemed to be in a better mood.

And finally, would someone please explain to the federal and state governments that I would just like to teach, thank you?! Enough of the committees, programs, policies, rules, regulations, and general BS. Leave me alone. Let me teach. And I promise I will do a good job. Thank you.

You have so much going on. And I'm glad Little Miss is some better.

You also have my full support on the whole teaching issue. Yes, just teach...teach well...and poop on all that other stuff. Is it really necessary, anyway?

Regarding dogs balls: First, let me say that I never in a million years thought I would type that. Second, get him some implants. After they take out the...testes (?) have them put fake ones in. I think they're called neuticles. Nobody would know the difference!

That little stinker! (Juan, not Cole!) Are there are any ads in the paper for him? You could call the shelter and ask if anyone's called looking for him before you do the snip snip. Will he stop humping once Jackie's fixed? Or will he keep pestering her? If not, I'd be tempted to forego the snippage until you're sure he's staying around. That's expensive for a drive-by boyfriend.

So glad to hear good things from preschool, and that he shared it all with you! Noah could not remember what they ate for lunch, wasn't telling what they had for snack, and didn't want to talk about playing outside, doing blocks, or coloring. Did he bring home something to hang on the fridge? That's my favorite part of our new sitter! And how, praytell, am I to answer to the old one when I run into her (and you know I will!) and she asks how it's going? How do I not beam from ear to ear and sing the glory of DM?

Amen to the gov't request!

Holy blogjack!

I always wanted to be a teacher. Until my own father convinced me not to. Because of the endless paperwork and bureaucracy. I suppose I am a teacher now. But without that other stuff :-)

Good luck with Jackie and Fernando...

You could always take Jose/Ricardo/Paco/Juan/Eduardo to the vets with you and ask them to scan him for a chip. You never know, he might have one. If he hasn't then deball him and adopt him. See...veeery simple!!

What about Jorge as a name ? We have a Jorge in our kindy class and for the last two weeks I have been calling hin 'George'. usually in a rather loud voice and accompanied by things like 'OK, George, I'm done, you're on the wall for 5 mins/10mins/all of recess!!. Somebody pointed out yesterday, that it is actually pronounced 'Horhey'. Somehow, the name 'George' has stuck, as that is what all the kids are now calling him !!

Which reminds me, I really need to go to bed, I have the pleasure of George/Jorge/Horhey's company tomorrow. i need to be rested ... and awake...

I don't know how you do it all... and look so sassy! Great new profile pic! Move over blue m&m, Angie is sassy!

I changed my major from education to history when I realized that teaching would involve a lot more then just being with kids.

I vote for neutering little Geraldo. There are way too many unwanted pets in the world, taking away his chance at adding to that number is always a good thing!

Good luck with teaching!

Yay for little Miss feeling better and yay that Cole loved school. Always makes it easier to drop them off when you know they want to be there.

Sounds like more good than bad. Glad that the Little Miss is on the road to recovery and Farm Boy actually liked his class. I taught HeadStart for 20+ years and most kids do enjoy themselves. That is a blessing for all involved.
Hector should probably be fixed. It seems he has been there a while and no one has stepped up. Poor little Paco seems to have lucked out- big time.....

I love your last paragraph.....my lesson plans would be SUPER if I had the time that "they" have wasted sitting around dreaming up more BS for teachers to fill out, check, incorporate, and count etc.

Yeah, all those rules they put you teachers under is kind of a joke....apparently creativity is out of the question...for teachers and students!
