What is UP with people who don't post all week?

Oh yeah. That would be me. Sorry. Things have been crazy busy. I sit down at the computer every night. Look at a blog or two. Glance at the clock. 9:20. Can't keep my eyes open....go to bed. Seriously. Every night. Tonight I got an early start thanks to my mom doing the dishes, Papa Murphy's for making a very delicious gourmet vegetarian take and bake pizza for us, and kids going to be early and without incident. Time to breathe. And drink.

Let's start with Jose. Yes, the name has kind of stuck. It's the name we started out using. I have been testing other names...but in the end, it's what we have all been calling him. So, Jose it is. Since my last post, Jose has been at our house all the time. There are some afternoons when he isn't here, but he always gets his little fuzzy butt here by dark. Many years ago, all the animals (all 7 cats and 3 dogs) were banished to the outdoors with the exception of Noodles. Now every once in awhile Bear is allowed in but only on the carpet in the family room. But Jose? Let's take a look, shall we?

That lump would be Jose.

Thankfully he has quit humping Jackie, but he still loves to cuddle.

Not only is he in the house, but he's on the furniture every single day. He also sleeps under the covers at Farm Guy's feet all night long. As a matter of fact, I get a dirty look if I disturb them in the mornings. I am pretty sure he is ours now.

School is going great. I was really pretty nervous about teaching the multi-age class, but I have absolutely no complaints. The kids are well behaved and work pretty independently when I am working with the other group. We have settled into a groove and things are moving along nicely.

The biggest stressor of the week has been daycare. There was a horrible accident involving one of Claire's little 2 year old friends. Only 4 kids were in the room when it happened; Claire being one of them. I had to take Claire to the police station for questioning by CPS. Let's just say that was about the most pointless thing I have ever done. A strange man questioning an almost 3 year old girl? The bulk of her answers went something like this:

CPS: "Claire, can you tell me what happened?"
Claire: "Momma, I want some candy."

Unfortunately for the CPS man, there were 3 candy machines at the entrance of the station. Once she spotted the candy, there was no changing the subject.

Things are very stressful and sad there right now. It's a horrible situation that makes me sad everyday. I get upset for the the little girl hoping she fully recovers, I get upset for the daycare ladies and what they are going though, and I get upset when I think how easily it could have been Claire. The kids are still going there. I don't feel unsafe there. It was a freak accident that could have happened to anyone at anytime. I am so thankful my kids were/are safe. And I pray (although not as much as my mom probably does as she has offered to watch the kids) that they don't close the daycare.

On a happier note, my IRL BFF, Deb, made me the cutest necklace pendant with her new crafty obsession. Head on over there to see it. I wore it today and got numerous compliments. So cute!

And last but not least, I am losing the SITS recipe contest. L.o.s.i.n.g. It's tough being up against other SITS gals, because I read so many of their blogs and consider many of them friends, but I could really use the new digital camera. So, if you haven't voted yet, head on over and check out my stuffed mushrooms.

It's 9:25. Do you know where your BFF is? I'm sure you're heading to bed. Loser. ha! I'm drinking my wine, waiting for Obama to whisper sweet nothings in my ear. Not making jewelry tonight. I only have 3 blanks left of the 10 I ordered.
Glad to see a post. Finally. Jose's ears are too doggoned cute, but I really cannot believe Farm Guy is sleeping with him. Don't let that get around, or he'll be teased for sure!
Love the Papa Murphy's gourmet veg. My taco pie was overly salty tonight. Maybe I'll pick one of those up tomorrow. Who needs to cook, anyway???
AND did you realize you can vote again and again in the recipe contest? I'm up to whooping 13 now. HA! I'm voting for you in hopes that I can look at your new camera.

I have been able to vote a few times. Trying to spread the love. I hope you can rally!

I am so sorry about whatever happened at the daycare. And to question a 3 year old? Really?

I am glad everyone is ok. Glad too that Claire is still too young for it to take any effect on her.

And Jose, totally knew he was yours.

Wow, what a crazy past few days. I think you need some cheering up. I left a little something for you on my blog.

Questioning a three year old has to be impossible. Heck, even questioning my 6 yr old can be impossible. He makes things up. Lies a lot. Embellishes. His story changes.

I'm sorry about whatever happened. Sounds horrible, whatever it was, and of course now I'm very curious what happened.

I'm glad Jose has settled in and bonded with your hubby's feet. hehe So cute.

Good to hear from you! I've missed your posts.

So sorry that little Claire, and the other kids, are having to go through this crud. That just adds to stress, but I don't need to tell you that....

I thought your post was directed at me, since I haven't posted in a week, then I remembered that I'm not that interesting, so why would you direct a post to me?......

Ugh, I worked in childcare for years and your story of the incident made my stomach drop to my feet. I hope everything is ok.
I'm so glad Jose is still there and making himself quite at home!

Wow your Mom must be great to do your dishes TWO days in a row !! Oh wait, you only said one day LOL.

I hope that little girl is okay too! And that God puts your kids where they need to be while you're at work, wherever that may be. We don't want anything happening to Z's future wife and brother in law.

So glad Jose is part of your family. Yep, when they claim the bed, they're not going anywhere!

That dog is pathetically adorable, and I'm glad she's found love at your house. As for the not blogging thing, I say Thank You! Seriously, when people don't blog, I am grateful, because it's one less thing I feel I have to "do," and it lightens my Reader load. I'm back at school now, too, and I hate to miss anything, so I appreciate your taking a break :)

As for the accident, I hope you'll at least give us a hint; it's made me so curious. I'm glad Claire was safe.

I voted . . . and voted . . . and yummmm.

Pre-School and CPS is a big reason why my degree in Early Childhood Education is why I'm in the financial industry. One "report" too many . . . . and they weren't even in my classroom!!!! They still make everyone in the buildings life miserable. Anyway. Good luck . . . . and again, ymmmmmm.

Jose is just too darn cute! I'm glad that you're keeping that little bat-eared pup.

And oh my, I am in LOVE with that necklace! I have been wanting something like that with my daughter's name and birthday, but I can't afford the $80 that some people charge for them. I wish I knew how to make them!

Girl! I am so glad Claire is okay, that name totally fits her by the way....

I hope that little girl recovers and I am praying for the women who work their, as they are also going through a lot I am sure.

I only got one vote and it was for those heavenly mushrooms. Don't tell any of the other SITStas I said that.

Deb-Talk to me about Taco Pie. I might just need the recipe.

Kat-People keep telling me they can vote more than once, but I have used both IE and Mozilla and it will only let me change my vote. And I really need that camera!

Sassy Steph-Yeah, Claire seems fine. I am so thankful she didn't get hurt as well as wasn't involved in the situation at all.

Caroline-Thanks! I will post about it today!

Rhea-Missed you too!

Sidney-You're crazy! I love your posts!

Dysfunctional Mom-Jose is TOTALLY at home. Very spoiled!

Z's mom-LOL! Won't they make the cutest couple?!

Mrs. 4444-I will give more details. I plan to update the situation in a later post. As for the dog? You are exactly right. Pathetic!

Sheri-Thanks!!! I have only been able to vote once. They are SO good!!

Lindsay-You might be able to sweet talk Deb into making a necklace. She is thinking about selling them for $20.00. Check her out!

Heather-Yeah! That guy had no idea what he was in for when Little Miss walked in there! He thought hardened criminals were tough!

Lisa-Thanks! Glad to meet you too. My layout changes a lit. I have a slight addiction to it. Welcome!

Tiffany-Your secret is safe with me!!

I totally took 20 pictures while making the taco pie, then tasted how salty it was and in a fit of rage, deleted all. Then we ate it the next night and it magically wasn't as salty anymore. The bottom is crescent rolls, so I'm thinking it magically absorbed the excess salt like bread can do in certain recipes.
Lindsay (or anyone)-I'm thinking about selling them. I need to order more blanks, and I totally don't want to mess with etsy because I'm too lazy to figure it all out. I figured if I have to ship them, they'd be $25. I do have paypal for my Christmas shopping, I'd just need to activate my accounts again. You can leave me a comment and I'll email ya!

Anyway, the taco pie is a layer of crescent rolls, 1c smashed Fritos, browned and drained hamburger mixed with taco seasoning and olives (I used only green but you can use both), a layer of sour cream (small container), 1 c of mozzerella, 1 c of cheddar, another c of smashed Fritos. Bake at 350 for 20ish minutes. I use an 8x8 glass pan.
