So far this Saturday

We ran errands this morning. We hit the ATM, then went to hell and back Wal-Mart, then to a local greenhouse for Mother's Day planters. They didn't have what I wanted, so what did we do? Went to an ice cream stand instead.

Once we got home and unloaded the groceries, we were playing outside in the somewhat sunny yet cool weather. I decided I wanted to mow the backyard. Farm Guy was/is at work (his real job, not his farming) and the backyard REALLY needed it. So I let the kids play on the patio in the sandbox while I got started. A few passes into the yard, I look down and I MOWED A SNAKE! Did you hear me?! I mowed a snake! Heaven help me. It was, um, slightly alive but in no condition to do anything about it. I freaked out and started screaming for the dogs. I thought they would rescue me. I was wrong. All they did was fling it around a little and paw at it. So, I regained my composer and mowed the rest of the yard. It looks great, except for the little unmowed patch because of Mr. Snake. I wasn't willing to run it over again just to finish mowing for fear of part of it flying onto me. I don't think I would survive the trauma.

So, how's your Saturday going?

My Saturday is lovely, thank you very much. I have never mowed the grass. Would have no idea as to how to mow the grass. DH mowed the grass today while I hung out at Borders. The girls go once a month for American Girl Club. Then we went out to lunch. And did our own version of hell and back by going to Sam's. It wasn't pretty.

Productive beyond belief, actually!
No snakes here. Love the writing on the pics--how'd you do that???

Kat-I love mowing grass! I used to do it before the kids came along, but today was the first time I have had the chance to do it since. We have a wonderfully fast (John Deere) zero turn mower so I can fly! Glad you had a peaceful Saturday (except for Sam's Club.) I feel your pain.
Deb-Glad you were productive. I did some laundry and picked the house up, but that's about it. I did the writing on my new obsession, www.picnik.com It's a great picture program and it's free!

Too funny! You are a funny girl.

Angie, have you been to http://audreycaroline.blogspot.com ? I read the entire blog today from start to finish; the Angie in the story is so beautifully inspiring. Her faith is incredible. Just thought I'd pass that on....

A zero turn mower? Ummm...okay. I obviously don't speak John Deere. What does that mean? Or will the answer be like when I ask my husband what exactly he does all day as a chemical engineer...and then my eyes glaze over...and I have to pretend that heard, listened, and/or understood what he said? :-)

What I am really looking forward to is a peaceful Sunday. My dh is taking the kids out and about, and my mom and I are going to watch "Becoming Jane" on DVD...and eat popcorn and M&Ms until we pop...
