Just when things were looking up...

I started seeing my ex, Starbucks, last week. Things were looking up. My drinks were usually right. And when they weren't, I grew some b@lls and sent them back. (Um, I have no idea why that is a link. I swear I haven't been googling balls. I hope it doesn't transform you to some shady balls material. Unless that's what you're looking for...then click right on over.)

As a matter of fact, things were going so well that he knew what I wanted before I even had a chance to order. These days it has been a grande, iced, non-fat raspberry mocha, no whip and 2 boxes of organic apple juice. I have to admit, I was hopeful that our relationship was back on track.

Then the bomb dropped.

MY Starbucks, the one built LAST YEAR, the only one within 30 miles of me...is closing. *sniff* That's the first time I have written it. Seeing it written out makes it even more real. I had heard the news stories of Starbucks closing over 600 stores. I wasn't surprised. There are like a hundred in the big cities. Oversaturation...I get it. But, MY STARBUCKS? In my tiny little town? The only Starbucks near me? I can't believe it.

I blame myself. I fear my temporary break-up had something to do with it. How else do you explain it? Sigh.

So for now, I am spending extraordinary amounts of money and consuming extraordinary amounts of extra calories to prepare myself for the bitter end.

Ok, so I HAD to click on balls. It thinks its an email address and it opened Outlook....so, no porn site. Thought I'd let you know.

Sorry about your Starbucks! I had to quit going because I'm poor....and fat! And yeah, everytime I ordered my tall Mocha Frappacino....it tasted different. Every time! You know they closed all of their stores for several hours one night, that was like 3 months ago...so they could all train on making their drinks again. Me thinks it didn't work so well!

Love the layout!!! I think you and I have a slight blog template addiction....

I clicked too, I couldn't resist. It just opened up my Agent.

That sucks that it's closing, when it's the only one in your town. Doesn't make much sense!

Cool new header ... very cute.

Can you even BELIEVE that!
I can't.
I'm from the Seattle "area" and Starbucks are EVERYWHERE and now they are closing them as fast as they can build them.
Whatever, I guess I'll just grind my Costco beans and get over it.
I love love LOVE this background : )

Ok, they built 3 of them within a mile of each other in my city this year. First off, two of them are ACROSS the street from each other.

Maybe if they built them on each side of the town, they wouldn't all be closing.

I can't say I'm not sad to see them go, I know I can easily lose 10 lbs, by not eating their lemon loaf and drinking my Mint chip mocha frap!

I clicked too, LOL

They are closing three right around me, they are only keeping the one in Target and the ones with drive thru's!

Of course, they opened one in one of those strip malls in the Target parking lot that has a Starbuck's...what was their thought process in that? LOL That one is closing, duh!

I'm so sorry yours is closing! That's so sad. It was the breakup, totally. It couldn't handle it.

Love the new pictures! Your header is different every time I visit! I love the corn pictures especially.

This Starbucks madness is surreal, isn't it? Our little town had two, then three, then four, then five. One has closed, and of course it's the one near my house. Still open are the THREE in almost the SAME PARKING LOT. It's insanity. However, yours closing sounds wrong, since it's not across the street from another. I am sorry for your loss.

I feel your pain. Our family just moved from a city of a gazillion peeps to a tiny country town of, I think I have 3 neighbors.

Anyway, my nearest Bux is about 20-30 miles. I have not been brave enough to see if it made the "list". I really don't want to know. I have gotten a little attached to McD's iced coffee, being the only reasonable substitute around. But Bux was my "I have to load up three kids, remember to feed the dog and try to get back before sundown" treat to myself when I have to go into "town".

Found you through SITS! I will be back!

I'm so sorry about you and *Bucks! Just when you two were getting along, too! I KNOW what you can replace your longing with--how 'bout some Pop'rs? Have you all had a chance to try them yet? I'm on the edge of my seat with curiosity! PS: You've been tinkering with your blog layout again--I like it!!

What a tragic commentary on society's financial situation. I can understand why Starbucks would close stores in the big city where there's on on every block, but one in a town that needs one...come on!

I'm sorry for your loss. I don't understand it since I've never ONCE partaken on the Starbucks. For this I am glad now! Hell, I don't even drink coffee. Doesn't that make you feel OLD???? ha
Love the new background, but now I'm worrying that I've missed some whilst vacationing!

What about the Starbucks in all the Barnes and Nobles and Targets all over the countryside? Those aren't closing, are they? I have figured out that they are closing two right by the house. Not that I have the time in the morning (or the pocket change) to stop before school. (AHHH. I said it.)

I'm sorry about your Starbucks! Does your Target not have one? Or is this the Target one? You'll have to fashion your blog in all black on the day they close :-)

I'm sorry. You said "balls" three times, and I have no idea what the rest of your post was about. Something about balls, I think.

I can't wrap my brain around 600 stores closing. I'm devastated.

oh no - i vote start picketing. They may listen. A church nearby has had a save St John's up for the past 4 years and it hasn't closed yet. Granted, that is a religious establishment, but some feel that getting the right cup of coffee in the morning is a religion as well.
