I am making an effort to quit biting, breaking, and nervously gnawing on my fingernails. Gross, I know. I have started using a clear polish on them which has already helped a bit. They are starting to grow a bit stronger, but I know they will soon be too brittle to grow anymore without breaking and splitting.
So, does anyone have any super tips on how to keep them stronger? Or know of any great product to try? I am not looking for super long nails, just strong, even nails that would be worthy of a manicure.
Thank you for your time. :)

I have the same problem, and I have ever since I stopped sucking my fingers at night (last month, JK). Anyway, every once in a while, when I decide to grow nice nails, I use a clear polish called Revive-a-Nail. That stuff is miraculous. I don't have any now (so it might be spelled wrong), because I dropped in on the ceramic tile and smashed it a little while ago. Good luck!
I used stuff by OPI a few years ago. I'll look if I still have it and tell you a more specific name, but seems like it was Miracle Nails or something.
I have a different problem--mine are too bendy and soft. I should care and do something about it, but alas I just keep them semi-short.
Thanks, girls. I will check them both out. Hope you are having great weekends!
You know, I don't chew my nails but I do pick them, and since I've been taking prenatal vitamins (I'm still taking them because I'm nursing the baby) my fingernails are really strong and nice even though I keep them pretty short.
Another tip is if you clip them regularly, you won't have a chance to pick or chew at them. I always start picking if I get a little snag then I can't stop, but if I have the nail clippers in the car or something, I can either clip or file off the offending little bit instead of ripping off the whole end of the fingernail. blech, I know.
