Today started off as any normal day. Then at about 9:00 a.m., as I was conferencing with my students during their silent reading time, I turned into an itchy maniac. I had welty hives all over my legs, then my arms, then my face started tingling. It was all I could do to keep from scratching my face. But, if you had seen the welts on my legs, you would understand my desire to keep them off my face. The school nurse ordered me to the doctor, pronto. Luckily one of the second grade teachers has a student teacher and was able to cover my class. It turns out I was having an allergic reaction to the penicillin I had finished taking several days ago for my strep throat. Who knew you could have a reaction to something so late? The dr. was convinced that was the source of my problem. Who am I to argue? So, I filled my prescriptions of Allegra and Prednisone and was back to school in an hour. Luckily the hives have calmed down and all is well again.

Happy to hear things are getting better!!
You and your crazy skin! I'm glad it didn't get to your face. I still find it bizarre to be reacting this late though.
